Immo Burkhardt is a research scientist at Scripps Institution of Oceanography where he discovered the first terpene biosynthetic machinery in marine coral and sponge animals. His research focus lies on the investigation of untapped biosynthetic potential in the animal kingdom with a focus on novel genome-based drug discovery approaches.
