The Departmental Council (Fachbereichsrat) advises the department and prepares its decisions. It prepares the drafts of the department-related part of the faculty's structure and development plan. Further it prepares the department-related examination regulations and the department's teaching programme and comments on:
- faculty's structure and development plan
- constitution, modification and revocation of the faculty's institutions
- recommendations of the appointment committees
- proposals of the study commissions for new study and examination regulations
- new study programmes suggested by the study commissions.
