Shiqiang started his studies of Organic Chemistry in 2016 in Lanzhou University under the supervision of Prof. Xuegong She. He completed his Ph.D. thesis with the title “Tandem reaction for the construction of disubstituted indoles and studies toward total synthesis of lucidumone and akuammiline alkaloids” in 2022. Then he subsequently began his post-doctoral period in Rongbiao Tong’s group in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology University focusing on the total synthesis of indole Alkaloids and Antibiotics. In November 2023, he joined the Gaich group, continuing his further study of total synthesis of natural products.

Lu studied chemistry at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2013-2019. He completed his Ph.D. thesis with the title “Asymmetric total synthesis of Aspidosperma alkaloids (-)-Vincadifformine and asymmetric synthesis study toward Gelsedine-type alkaloids Geksedilam” under the supervision of Prof. Gang Zhao. In November 2019 he joined the Gaich group for his post-doctoral studies and is currently working on the synthesis of Taxane diterpenes.
