New paper published in Chemical Reviews!

I am super happy to share that after more than two years of dedicated work, our paper titled Exploring the Potential of Nonclassical Crystallization Pathways to Advance Cementitious Materials has been FINALLY published in Chemical Reviews! We sincerely hope that the crystallization insights shared in here will inspire cement scientists and catalyse progress towards more sustainable construction materials.

Over the past two decades, alternative theories have revolutionized our understanding of…

In the loving memory of Helmut

There are no words to express my gratitude for Helmut’s unconditional support over the past years. Under his guidance, I had the opportunity to establish my own junior research group at the Department of Chemistry, University of Konstanz, focusing on multidisciplinary research that integrates nano-, micro-, and macro-scale insights to develop sustainable cementitious materials.

Helmut’s continued support and confidence in me and my research, as well as his generosity, have allowed me to pursue…

We welcome our new master student: Lisa Huber

Lisa will work on her master thesis in our group and research on the amorphous magnesium carbonate (AMC). We wish her all the best for her time with us and are excited to see the results.

Fachbereich Seminar

Cris gave on 26.10.2023 the Fachbereichsvortrag, which inaugurated the WS 2023/2024.

New paper in Advanced Functional Materials

Our latest publication, "High Energy Absorption Nacre-Like Calcium Silicate Hydrate (C-S-H) Composite Toward Elastic Cementitious Materials,” just appeared in Advanced Functional Materials. Congratulations to all co-authors and especially to the first author Xin Liu!

ICCC 2023

Cris participated in the International Congress on the Chemistry of Cement (ICCC 2023), which took place in Bangkok, Thailand.
