Olivier defends his PhD thesis

On March 22nd 2024, Olivier successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled „Interfacial synthesis of metal nanoparticles in soft matter systems“, which he performed in co-tutelled between the École Polytechnique de Montréal and the University of Konstanz. We congratulate Olivier for his amazing work and output. We wish him all the very best for his future endeavors!

Welcome Claudia!

We are thrilled to welcome Claudia, who joined our group in March 2024. Claudia is performing a MSc research internship and works together with Jessica on pulsed laser-assisted doping of CdS Nanocrystals. We wish Claudia an amazing time in our group!

Lisa attends JCF Sommer Meeting

Lisa participated at the Spring Symposium 2024 (Frühjahrsymposium 2024) of the young chemists section (Jungchemikerforum, JCF) of the German Chemical Society(Gesellschaft deutscher Chemiker, GDCh). She presented a poster entitled “Shape-anisotropic palladium nanoparticles synthesized hydrothermally on polyurethane sponges for heterogeneous catalysis” featuring  the results of her bachelor thesis.

Scientific Graphic Design course

For the PhD students of the graduate school of microbiology, Dept. of Biology of the University of Vienna, Miriam taught her 3-day Scientific Graphic Design (SGD) course. In this course, the students learned to effectively convey complex scientific concepts of their own research through clear and engaging graphics. We are grateful to the students for their active participation and thank the organizers!

Welcome back Celine

We are thrilled to announce that Celine has rejoined the group for her master thesis. In her project Celine will be working on the controlled crystallizations of organic compounds. We extend our best wishes to Celine for successful experiments  and an enriching time with us!

Welcome back Tobias

We are very happy to announce that Tobias has rejoined the group for his master thesis. His project focuses on the synthesis of functional small molecules. We wish Tobias successful experiments  and an amazing time with us!

Miriam gives a talk at POPs 2024 at KAUST

Miriam gave a talk at the International Symposium on Porous Organic Polymers (POPs 2024), which took place at the King Abdullah University of Science of Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia. In her talk entitled Green Chemistry and Beyond – Navigating the Chemical Space for Sustainable Materials, she gave a glimpse on the exploration of the hydrothermally accessible chemical space. We thank the organizers for a fantastic POPs 2024 conference in conjunction with the wonderful Women in Science and…

Welcome Hannah

We are excited to welcome Hannah to our group at the University of Konstanz as a research intern. She will be working with Fabián on the characterization of structure-fluorescence property relationships of small molecules. We wish you a very successful and enjoyable time in our group!
