Manfred-Fuchs-Preis 2019 für Dr. Thomas Böttcher

31.05.2019 Der Konstanzer Chemiker Dr. Thomas Böttcher hat den Manfred-Fuchs-Preis 2019 der Heidelberger Akademie der Wissenschaften erhalten. Thomas Böttcher untersucht in seiner interdisziplinären Emmy Noether-Forschungsgruppe die chemischen Interaktionen von Mikroben im menschlichen Körper. Die von dem Mannheimer Unternehmer Dr. Dr. h.c. Manfred Fuchs gestiftete Auszeichnung wird unter anderem an besonders qualifizierte Nachwuchsforschende vergeben, die sich bereits als ForschungsleiterInnen in den Naturwissenschaften auf eine Professur vorbereiten.

20.09.2018 Während der Sixth European Conference on Crystal Growth (ECCG6) im Riviera Holiday Club (Varna/Bulgarien), erhielt Christian Jenewein den IUCr Journals Award für die beste Poster Präsentation.

Carl-Zeiss-Stipendium 2017: Jochen Bahner & Michael Gießl

30.08.2017 Jochen Bahner (AG Polarz) und Michael Gießl (AG Cölfen) erhielten jeweils ein Carl-Zeiss Stipendium der Carl-Zeiss Stiftung. Das Nachwuchsförderprogramm 2017 wurde mit den thematischen Schwerpunkten Lebenswissenschaften (ohne Medizin und Pharmazie), Chemie und für Digitalisierungsprojekte mit Bezug zu den Lebenswissenschaften oder der Chemie ausgeschrieben.

František Šorm Memorial Medal for Prof. Dr. Andreas Marx

06.06.2017 Professor Marx from the ChemLife research initiative, which explores the interaction between biological and chemical knowledge, received the František Šorm Memorial Medal awarded by the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS). The medal, which is awarded to outstanding international scientists once every three years, is in memory of Professor František Šorm, founder and first director of CAS’s Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. Forschungspreis der Dr. Karl Helmut Eberle-Stiftung für Prof. Dr. Sebastian Polarz und PD Dr. David Schleheck

28.11.2016 Die Dr. Karl Helmut Eberle-Stiftung vergibt erstmals ihren Preis für herausragende wissenschaftliche Vorhaben an Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler der Universität Konstanz. Die im Jahr 2016 mit 300.000 Euro dotierte Auszeichnung erhalten der Chemiker Prof. Dr. Sebastian Polarz und der Biologe PD Dr. David Schleheck für ein gemeinsames interdisziplinäres Projekt zum Schutz vor bakterieller Besiedelung auf Oberflächen. Dazu werden sie sogenannte Nanofabriken entwickeln. Die festliche Preisverleihung findet am Mittwoch, 30. November 2016, um 16 Uhr im Senatssaal statt. Pressemitteilung

21.10.2016 One Principal Investigators of GCh were awarded at this year’s Dies Academicus with a prize given by the students of the University of Konstanz for outstanding teaching (LUKS). The students of the department of Biology awarded Martin Scheffner, from the department of Chemistry the prize goes to Valentin Wittmann.

LBS Umweltpreis für Julia Gehring

26.07.2016 Der mit 10.000 Euro dotierte Forschungspreis wurde 2016 zu gleichen Teilen für zwei Forschungsleistungen vergeben. Julia Gehring aus dem Fachbereich Chemie an der Universität Konstanz erhielt den Preis für ihre Dissertation mit dem Titel "Periodisch geordnete mesoporöse Organosilikat-Nanopartikel und deren Anwendung als biozide Materialien", deren Zielrichtung die Herstellung eines Beschichtungsmaterials mit anitbakterieller Aktivität ist.

ERC Starting Grant 2015 for Prof. Dr. Tanja Gaich

14.12.2015 The ERC (European Research Council) have been created to help early careers researchers consolidate their independence, develop their own research teams and to advance their career further. The programme also provides support to excellent, independent and recently formed research teams. Prof. Dr. Tanja Gaich was awarded for her project "Artificial Natural Products System Synthesis" with the ERC Starting Grant 2015.

Bayer Early Excellence in Science Award 2015 for Prof. Dr. Tanja Gaich

06.12.2015 Professor Tanja Gaich received the Early Excellence in Science Award from Professor Andreas Busch (left), member of the Executive Committee of the Bayer-Division Pharmaceuticals and head of Drug Discovery, and Professor Michael Brands (right), head of Medicinal Chemistry Berlin at Drug Discovery. Gaich produced synthetic taxol derivatives. In nature, small quantities of taxol can be isolated from the bark of the Pacific yew. The award from the Bayer Science & Education Foundation is endowed with 10.000€.

Heisenberg Professorship for Malte Drescher

12.10.2015 Malte Drescher is the first Heisenberg Professor at the University of Konstanz. He is professor for “Spectroscopy of Complex Systems” at the department of chemistry. On 15 October he will give his inaugural lecture on “Spies, Spins and Spectra” in which he explains the Electron Spin Resonance Spectroscopy as a method to analyze the structure and dynamic of macromolecules. The Heisenberg Professorship is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for the duration of five years.

LBS Umweltpreis für Philipp Roesle

05.06.2015 Die Stiftung "Umwelt und Wohnen an der Universität Konstanz" vergab Ihre jährliche Auszeichnung in Höhe von 10.000 Euro in diesem Jahr an Philipp Roesler.  Er nahm sich in seiner Dissertation zum Ziel aufzuklären, wie ein Katalysator funktioniert, der in der Lage ist, aus Pflanzenölen nützliche höherwertige Bausteine zu erzeugen, welche beispielsweise für die Erzeugung von bio-basierten und bioabbaubaren Kunststoffen relevant sind.

Young Investigator Prize of the DECHEMA in Natural Product Research for Tanja Gaich

27.05.2015 Prof. Dr. Tanja Gaich erhielt für ihre innovativen Arbeiten auf dem Gebiet der Naturstoffsynthese, wobei sie sich primär auf die Sarpagin-Alkaloide wie das Vellosimin fokussierte, den Nachwuchswissenschaftler-Preis für Naturstoffforschung 2015.

ECIS-Solvay Prize 2014 for Helmut Cölfen

08.10.2014 Prof. Dr. Helmut Cölfen received the "European Colloid & Interface Society" (ECIS)-Solvay Prize in 2014 for the development of a new approach to biomineralization, which is related to the use of calcium based solvent-swollen colloids that led to new synthesis routes towards calcium nanoparticles of controlled size and concentration. This prize is granted each year to a European scientist for original scientific work of outstanding quality, described in one or several publications, patents or other documents made public in the previous five years.

ERC Consolidator Grant für Chemiker Prof. Dr. Sebastian Polarz

10.02.2014 Der Konstanzer Chemiker Prof. Dr. Sebastian Polarz hat für sein Projekt zur Erforschung einer neuen Klasse von Tensidsystemen einen ERC Consolidator Grant eingeworben. Insgesamt 1,9 Millionen Euro stellt der European Research Council (ERC) dem Konstanzer Wissenschaftler zur Verfügung, um in den kommenden fünf Jahren seine Pionierarbeit auf dem Gebiet der anorganischen Tenside voranzutreiben. Mit dem ERC Consolidator Grant fördert der Europäische Forschungsrat exzellent ausgewiesene Forscher, deren Promotion mindestens sieben, aber höchstens zwölf Jahre zurückliegt, bei der Konsolidierung eines unabhängigen Forschungsteams. In einem hochkompetitiven Verfahren konnte sich Sebastian Polarz mit seinem Forschungsprojekt unter 3.700 Bewerbungen durchsetzen. Pressemitteilung

Dr. Malte Drescher mit dem Heisenberg-Stipendium ausgezeichnet

20.01.2014 Dr. Malte Drescher, PI und Mitglied des KoRS-CB Executive Boards, wurde von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) mit dem renommierten Heisenberg-Stipendium ausgezeichnet. Drescher forscht und lehrt seit 2008 am Fachbereich Chemie der Universität Konstanz und erhält das Stipendium für seine erfolgreichen Arbeiten auf dem Gebiet der Elektronenspinresonanz-Spektroskopie (ESR-Spektroskopie). ERC Advanced Grant for Prof. Andreas Marx

18.09.2013 The chemist Professor Dr. Andreas Marx from Konstanz was awarded the renowned ERC Advanced Grant by the European Research Council (ERC) for developing new diagnostic procedures on the basis of DNA methylation. The five-year research project at the University of Konstanz is being supported by the European Research Council with approximately 2.5 million euros. Press Release

Ein Ausnahmechemiker Akademiepreis 2013 der Berlin-Brandenburgischen Akademie der Wissenschaften für Prof. Dr. Helmut Cölfen

17.06.2013 Der Akademiepreis der Berlin-Brandenburgischen Akademie der Wissen-schaften (BBAW) für herausragende wissenschaftliche Leistungen geht in diesem Jahr an den Konstanzer Chemiker Prof. Dr. Helmut Cölfen. Die Aka-demie ehrt Helmut Cölfen für seine bahnbrechenden Forschungsergebnisse im Bereich der Kristallisation, die bestehende Theorien überholt und Grund-lagen für neue internationale Forschungsgebiete geschaffen haben. Der Preis wurde ihm am 15. Juni 2013 auf der Festveranstaltung der Akademie zum „Leibniztag“ verliehen. Der seit 1996 bestehende Akademiepreis ist 2013 erstmals mit einem Preisgeld von 50.000 Euro dotiert. Helmut Cölfen ist seit 2010 Professor für Physikalische Chemie an der Universität Konstanz. Jörg Hartig erhält Chemie-Preis der Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen

08.12.2011 Professor Jörg Hartig has been awarded with the "Chemie-Preis der Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen" for his outstanding research on the chemical biology of nucleic acids. The donors of the prize are Dyneon GmbH and the "Fonds der Chemischen Industrie". Jörg Hartig is professor at the University of Konstanz since 2006 with his research group "Chemical and Synthetic Biology of Nucleic Acids" and acts as principal investigator of the Konstanz Research School Chemical Biology. Auszeichnung für richtungsweisende Forschung an Nukleinsäuren
